Creating a Catchment Plan

Creating a Catchment Plan

Introduction to the project

Project Dates: 2022 – 2023

After extensive consultation with outside agencies and the local community, our team or volunteers created a comprehensive catchment plan for the River Sid. This document is the foundation from which we are working from, to reinvigorate the river and catchment.

Key Aims:
  • To create a place to capture our current knowledge and understanding of the catchment
  • To provide a foundation to work from when planning activities
  • To lay out clear objectives to aim towards

Project Details

There are many influencing factors and components which contribute towards the catchment’s health. In order to focus our work, we consulted with outside agencies about how best to go about this.

One clear recommendation was to create a Catchment Plan, to look at what we already have, provide clear areas of interest, and where potential action could be taken to improve the health of the catchment and reinvigorate the river Sid.

Our volunteers took the time to put together this comprehensive document, reaching out to the local community for information and feedback, along with implementing advice and guidance on strutting the catchment plan from agencies. We ended up with three key areas of focus which are all intertwined within the catchment; water, land, and people.

This plan serves as a foundation for our aims, direction and actions. We review these every 6 months and these updates, can be viewed on our Resources Page
